Printed sidenotes to outer margins. Internally clean, crisp & tight. V.G. *115 Public/General/National Statutes printed in full; plus 160 Local & Personal Acts giving title and brief contents only; plus 53 Private Acts (listed only) Includes "An Act for the more effectual Suppression of the AFRICAN SLAVE TRADE" Chapt.XVII 31 March 1824, offenders to "..be deemed and adjudged guilty of Piracy, Felony and Robbery, and .. shall suffer Death without benefit of Clergy, and loss of Lands, Goods and Chattels.." AND FURTHER, Chapt.CXIII of 24 June 1824, an extensive enactment (41pgs) which made detailed provision for the treatment of slaves from captured slave-ships, in foreign & British ports or colonies, the "valuation" of slaves and a "bounty" to be paid upon seizure of slavers, and set out a number of International Treaties with Portugal, Spain & The Netherlands for regulating the slave trade.
