Description Two Volumes in One 188x108mm purple blind-stamped ribbed cloth (spine faded/edges rubbed) 291pp + 289pp + [1]p catalogue. Mainly uncut and unopened and with original binder's ticket of Westley & Co. London to rear pastedown. French text with 43 stories many with a moral lesson. *Cesar Malan was a Swiss evangelical Christian living in Geneva. The stories are examples of good conduct in life for children. He made many trips to Britain and around Europe. An unusual copy in that many pages are joined at top and fore-edges so it was not read by the owner. Quite scarce - title not in Gumuchian.
