Description Large octavo blue cloth with near full page onlay by Smith (tips worn/spine frayed at ends/onlay edges rubbed) Top Edge Gilt xii+124+1pp Recased with inner hinges strengthened, some gutters with adhesion marks. The plate at p55 is bound as frontis and tipped in on tinted mount not where it should be (? as issued). All tissue guards are lettered but some are creased and slightly marked/edge torn. Two plates are creased with marginal tear not touching image. A difficult book to find in any condition and containing some of the nicest Jessie Willcox Smith art work. Later editions usually had fewer color plates and illustrations.
