Illustrations: India proof plates + map (40 incl. folding map of Gloucestershire so 12 plates & plans missing incl. elusive second plate of Montpellier Pump Room) + 16 additional engraved advert-plates not listed.

Quarto (315x245mm 12.5x9.7in) newer green embossed cloth with manuscript spine label. Lacks frontis plate & titlepage (supplied in good facsimile) xiv (prelims misbound with signature b before a but complete except for first leaf of introduction in facsimile) +289pp with 40 plates and map ex-pagination + 14 advert plates. All text present and correct. Preliminaries have some dusting/soiling and edge repairs as does the recto of page 1. From then on there is damp staining for about 1" along bottom margin but since this is an UNCUT copy the margins are very wide and no text or printed area is ever touched. All tissue guards are present (a few slightly loose). Water-mark is dated 1824 Balston & Co. for the front of the book then 1825 with a few sheets at end dated 1826. No foxing or inscriptions and all plates (except for additional advert plates at end) are on India paper many with "proof" on plate margin. *Note this is the large quarto edition not the small 2 volume octavo edition (extra postage may be needed).
