Description Octavo later half blue calf blind ruled and gilt titled with blue grained cloth sides (gilt Richmond library name & numerals to spine). Titlepage +[6]pp dedication +380pp +[2]pp contents. Small shield-shaped Richmond library stamps to lower margins of title, A2 and 4 other pages, pale pink library stamps with "withdrawn" and ink numbers on blank back of title. Neat 18th century maginalia round text of 4 pages plus rear endpaper neatly written on both sides. Minor foxing here and there but pages otherwise clean and supple. *Locke's influential work on education was first published by A. & J. Churchill in 1693 with many errors, corrected laster and in this enlarged 4th edition. It is remarkable for his sound advice on many practical matters such as diet & exercise, and his real feeling of sympathy for children.
