Small octavo blue pictorial cloth gilt titled to cover and spine (tips rubbed) 95pp. Pictorial Wesleyan Methodist Home & Foreign Missionary Society presentation to Allie Ireland 1892. *Strange story of a Catholic Nun who regrets her vows as she feels a prisoner in her convent. Help from another nun who came to the convent as a young girl after her fiancee decides to become a Jesuit Priest helps her to escape as she finds she is dying and entrusts her to her former lover. He, despite his calling helps the girl for is former love's sake, as she seems not to have a vocation for the church. A strange story for Victorian times without the usual animosity of the Protestants for the Cloistered life with the implicit admission that there are good people in both faiths.
