Armorial bookplate on marbled endpapers of Herbert Jekyll (probably Sir Herbert, brother of Gertrude Jekyll). Frontis + xiii (incl.title) +[1]p blank +[4]pp list of abbots & errata leaf +547pp. A few pages with pale foxing and some with sl.edge tanning else a wide margined clean tight copy of this interesting and well illustrated history of St. Albans Abbey.
