Description
Small octavo newer brown cloth with new endpapers. Bookplate of Thorwald Dethlefsen (astrologist b.1946) on front and Kawwana on rear endpaper, small purple inkstamp of Woinrich Trünker on back of titlepage. Titlepage +[4]pp Dedication +176pp +[8]pp Index up to Scabies so Lacks final leaf (A-M in 8's but lacking M8). Gutter margin tightly bound but entirely readable. Fore-edge margin a bit cropped touching 1st letter of side notes on about 12 leaves, with more serious loss to 3 pages of Index. *A very interesting description of the supposed influence Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury & the Moon have on disease & medicine. Discusses herbs, animals and how men born under these signs exhibit characteristic traits. Metals belonging to each planetary sign, illnesses & morbidity associated with each - eg. Venereal disease (Venus) and lunacy (the Moon). A rare volume only found in the British Library and Oxford's Bodleian - not in Auction records since 1970's.
