Folio blindstamped purple gilt cloth with green onlays to cover and bevelled boards (corners repaired and head/foot of spine damaged for 1cm) All Edges Gilt 20 leaves on stiff paper printed one side only. One plate has been cut down on two margins and mounted -no loss of chromolithography. Blank versos are variably foxed with some having marginal damp tide marks but the printed side is usually much less so and then only to the unprinted marginal areas. Slight chipping to the first few leaves. Handsome chromolithography is bright with colors, much silver and gilt. Each leaf has a double or triple illuminated border surrounding the text with some decoratively illuminated initials and a pictorial headpieces & pictorial tailpiece - every page differs in this sought after work.
