Description
Octavo contemporary full blind-tooled dark calf, spine label missing, simple gilt tooling on spine between 4 raised bands, 1cm chips out of top of spine, hinges splitting at head & foot but firmly attached, tips worn/bumped. Titlepage has small tear with loss at foot not affecting text and is soiled at edges. Text in Latin with quotations & examples in Greek, lightly browned throughout but complete. Two additional title pages: Geverharti Elmenhorsti Emendationes ad Apulei Platonici opera omnia; Philippi Cluverii Animadversiones in Apulei Platonici librum de mundo ad Geverhartum Elmenhorstium; Johannis Rutgersii, Erycii Puteani, Johannis Brantzii Spicilegia in Apuleium ad Geverhartum Elmenhorstium. Lower corners of pp 35-40 (mis-numbered 20) of Emendationes torn off without loss of text. Collation: 32, 367, [17]; 394, [4]; 112, [144] pp. Page 14 (in Vita) mis-numbered 41.
