Translation of La logique, ou L'art de penser. Octavo near contemporary blind-stamped dark calf with red label gilt and simple gilt decoration to spine. Front cover nearly detached, back cover starting to split at top of hinge, leather worn at tips and bumped. Fine 18th century armorial bookplate George Hungerford on front endpaper. Paper cut 4.5cm x 2cm from top of free endpaper. J.Green corrected in MS to R.Green at foot of titlepage (as most other copies of this edition). Marginal worm holes in pages of first half of book. Text clean and crisp. Collation: [12], xxxii, 312, [12] pp (Index and Adverts). Provenance: from libraries of George Hungerford (1704-1764) of Studley and Hungerford Pollen family of Rodbourne, Wiltshire. *Early French work on logic here translated into Latin (WING A3726).
