Quarto contemporary vellum with yap edge to fore edge spine with two ink titles (sl.rubbed & marked) TP +(6p=Preface)+ (8p=Contents,to the reader & errata) +3p laudatory poem by Petrus Scriverius+(1p=blank) +618pp +(6p=index & errata) odd quires here and there with more browning and 3 leaves with clean tear - no loss, else neat and tight. Name crossed out on pastedown another tiny early name on FEP & Frederic Verachter 1826 at foot of TP and another crossed out at head of TP in 1741. History of the the Early Middle Ages by Pontanus who was an assistant to Tycho Brahe. This is the Only editon of this work which has some French, Latin, and Old-German fragmentary documents and other interesting material on early Frankish origins. The titlepage is printed with 1516 but an early pen has inserted a tiny extra C to correct the date to 1616. Quite a scarce title (Peu connu - Brunet).
