Frontis reads TIMES STORE-HOUSE .. wherunto is annexed a Speciall Treatise of that kind of nobility which soverayne grace, and favor and contryes customes, have made meerly politicall and peculiarly civill (engraved by Renold Elstracke) showing the deities of Peace & Nobility in an architectural surround with the Royal coat of arms (James I). Two names at top margin of titlepage both crossed out (one reads B.V. Houghton), note to blank area partly erased causing small hole and few ink spots. A dozen pages with tears or corner loss, no loss of text but one has old inexpert tape repair. Faint damp marks mainly marginal to upper portion of first dozen pages and more towards the end, never making text illegible. A few old marginalia, pointing hands & other minor signs of use. Printed cancel slip pasted over a few lines of text at p126. *This volume deals with history in a much more organised way than Milles previous work. The 1st & 2nd books deal with France, the next two with Switzerland, then Spain, Italy & the Romans. Much about medical knowledge & eastern cures. Finally a section on Muscovy (Russia), Ireland & Norway and magical stones and pearls (STC 17936.5).
