Octavo boards with newer spine viii+24 pages + advert. leaf the back of which mentions the "Tail" question and plays on the word throughout the advert. with humorous effect. + 2pp of a smaller size page which advertises a German teaching book. The attribution to the Horts is only tentative in the British Library Catalogue which also specifies that the 14 plates include the cover and also calls for at least one of the two advert leaves at the end. The plates show an Audience with a very young Queen Victoria on the throne with Albert and the Duke of Wellington with petitions being read. Other scenes show troop reviews, Mess Nights, greeting ladies in coaches, soldiers on guard duty, in the park with young ladies etc.
