Description Folio 18th century calf spine with marbled boards and wide vellum corners (quite worn but covers held by cords/quite some chipping of the gilt on the spine/ hinges split/lacking spine label/spine chipped down at head & tail) Lacks Coat of Arms frontis. Titlepage present but bit tanned with a narrow strip (just over quarter of an inch by 2" missing to mid-fore-edge + first leaf of dedication has a similar lack but neither touching any printed matter +To Reader +Contents +List of churches & Guilds +List of Authors consulted (verso blank) +939pp (recte 947)+(28pp of tables) At the two Yy signitures p527-534 are numbered twice because text was inserted but reads through correctly and catchword jumping the inserted section showing that this was an insertion) Pagination jump between p 770 and 773 but collation correct and as BL copy. Some gatherings browned, others hardly affected is often the case. This copy is the British Library variant with a note, beginning "Something concerning the Jurisdiction of the River of Thames, etc." and dated 24 Dec. 1633, has been added on p. 939 between the end of the text and the word "Finis." A very neat copy of the FIRST FOLIO EDITION of this monumental work. Nice old Coat of Arms bookplate of James Frampton.
