Description
Folio newer full vellum on 5 double raised bands with red leather gilt spine title label (tips rubbed) (9 leaves)+353 leaves +(9 leaves)+ 53 leaves +3 leaves +43 leaves +(3 leaves) +57 leaves +(3 leaves) + 30 leaves. TP mounted & with small (1cm) hole caused by erasure of old name. A few ink spots on titlepage. The plate section is the only area showing signs of use and 4 leaves are remargined/reinserted, 4 are cut down losing about 1cm of lower margin but ample margin is still left & text & printed area are unaffected. A few other plates are reinserted on stubs. One plate only has minor loss to foot of pedestal other plates have no loss of text or printed area only to blank marginal paper. Bookplate of Dr. F.A.Sondervorst. The text is beautifully printed on fine white paper, the plates are artistic & detailed. *Aside from anatomical sections these works have treatises on old age, convulsions, preservation of eyesight, leprosy, gout, pox etc. (Not in Wellcome).
