Description
Duodecimo disbound xvi+320pp TP dusty and browned some signs of use 2 leaves lack a corner which has resulted in the loss of a few letters to a max. of 7 lines. Dated 1791 to the title of the map. British Library has only one copy of only this edition and their copy lacks both the map (as we do) but also the folding plan which is here present and dated 1791. This is a scarce volume and considering age and use as a tourist quide in presentable condition. It is an early guide book arranged in alphabetical order with much esoteric information including many house owner's names, information on brewing -named brewers and how much they brewed in 1790-1791, charities with details of how much food per week is given to each (3 lbs beef,2 mutton,1 pint pease 1.25 lb cheese 14 quarts beer, tobacco etc.
