Description 130x100mm red roan backed marbled boards in blue slipcase (spine lacking 1.5cm of lower spine /tips worn/small chip to head of spine) 144pp marks of damp heavy on frontis and titlepage, reducing thereafter. Sources given at end of each chapter include Humboldt's Personal narrative, Bingley's Animal biography, Shaw's Zoology, and Bewick's History of quadrupeds (see Osborne p201 for a later edition). *Stories of an educational and factual nature on the animal kingdom - crocodile, alligators, otters, electric eels, wolves, bears etc. Author identified as Maria (Barton) Hack from Lawrence Darton, The Dartons: An annotated check-list (2004) p124.
