Square octavo blue pictorial boards (tips worn/paper rubbed at hinges) 191pp. *Story of a girl whose father and younger brother return from years abroad trying for a cure to the boy's blindness. She has lived an unhappy lonely life and considers herself ugly. The arrival of the blind brother who has also been missing children's company delights both. The boy cannot imagine his sister as anything but marvelous and lovely -they have several near disasters which are usually blamed on the girl but when another boy leads them to fall down a cliff the sister bravely rescues her brother but in doing so breaks her leg. Now everyone sees her kindess and care and she in turn believes in God about whom her brother has tried to tell her as he helped her to save the boy.
