Oblong quarto pictorial boards (edges worn/lower cover damp-marked but is plain unillustrated paper/spine splitting at one hinge) Endpaper with tears and 1" strip torn off at foot. Text pages edge browned/worn with some damp marks but pop-ups clean and bright except for slight dusting where central "knob" of the cages at the top protruded slightly up to level of binding and therefore are sl.rubbed and dusty. Lion, Tiger, Stags with cockatoos to perches on either side of cage (These need a bit of push to stand up as there is no mechanism built into the design to do this) + monkeys in several layers + Brown bear + elephant with monkey perch on the outside of his cage. All cage bars entirely present but a few sl.repaired without loss and strengthened on the back only. Lacks Rear Endpaper (MONTANARO 178).A neat fully functioning pop-up of the Victorian age by the famous publishing house of Nister.
