Duodecimo contemporary tan roan spined boards (covers held by cords, spine and tips worn worn) 432pp. First 2 leaves re-attached, pages uncut as issued, a few small marginal tears but in remarkably good clean condition. *According to the British Library this is the First volume and the publication ceased in 1789. From the February 1788 issue Mrs. Trimmer's name is on the titlepage. Contains Fables, stories, essays on foreign travel, natural history + expected Pernicious effects of dram drinking, Anecdotes of Negroes, Management of children, Prayers to be used by a servant (p165).
