Description	Octavo grey decorated cloth cover (tips bit worn) 104pp +4pp publisher's catalogue. Lacks free endpaper, Seminary ownership stamp on titlepage, ownership label on pastedown. *An admonition to saving and thrift before the onset of old age so as "to escape the danger of coming to the Workhouse". Only two editions 1882 (with 104pp) and 1893 (with 96pp) and after this the workhouses ceased to exist and pensions became usual. Quite scarce with many stories exemplifying a lack of foresighted provision and consequent hardship.
