The first leaf explains: "This Treatise is carefully transcribed from the Original, which is fairly Written on Vellum, and is now in the Library of Trinity College, Cambridge". Front pastedown has handsome oval label with gilt coat of arms of Chandos Leigh - engraved bookplate of James Leigh of Adlestrop on rear pastedown with same escutcheon but different quaterings.
