Folio gilt leather on 5 raised bands spine extra gilt with red gilt title label dentelles & blind-tooled reverses (a few rubs to hinges & tips/a few scuffs but a handsome binding in good condition) 20 leaves. All Edges Red, marbled endpapers, printed one side only on card stock. Pages lightly foxed, mainly affecting verso of text leaves and endpapers. Each leaf has a double or triple illuminated border with much gold and/or silver which surrounds the text. Some decorative initials and headpieces with every page having a different design. First 2 printed pages cut out but re-inserted with strengthening at back, all others firmly attached and the book is a tight and handsome copy of this sought after work (R. McLean Victorian Book Design 133)..
