Quarto contemporary red half roan gilt decorated and titled to spine with pebbled cloth sides (tips rubbed but covers well attached an head and tail of spine complete and not chipped just rubbed) vi (includes printed and engraved title, preface & contents) + 118pp +[4]pp of text in English and French on Parisian views. A few sections with foxing but most minimally affected. The contents list strangely repeats most of the names in form of place name followed by city and then listed by city followed by place name making it look as if there should be twice the number of illustrations than actually called for. Two marginal tears neither touching any printed area, front endpaper creased and both free endpapers foxed but pastedowns and versos of free endpapers not foxed. *The scenes depicted are lively and show people, carriages, farm animals, ships etc. They include both town and country views, stately houses, factories, villages and farms, distant views and close up street scenes.
