155x92mm contemporary leather on 5 raised bands with gilt rules to spine and covers (tips worn/split to upper & lower band) vi +255pp last pages browned, titlepage and first few leaves slightly foxed but a neat tight copy. A few pencil annotations/comments including the attribution of some of the pseudonyms used to hide the personages being satirised. *A satire on the church establishment. "The author has deferred setting his name to these discourses till the twentieth edition, when he may perhaps find D.D. to fix to them, like other authros" p. vi (attributed to James Murray by ESTC).
