Illustrations: Woodcut printer's devices on both titles: Athena & her owl under olive tree with motto "Ne extra oleas", seated figure expounding scriptures in front of Dutch landscape by J.C. Philips 1733.

Two Works in One Volume small quarto vellum on 5 raised bands ruled and with central blindstamp & red gilt spine label (tips bumped slightly soiled starting to split along hinge but covers firm). Neat name John Knott MD 1906 on free endpaper. Titlepages in red & black +[14]pp +239pp +[1]p blank and (2nd work) +[4]pp +288pp (blank before title present in Vol.1 but not required in Vol.2). Some corners dusty else a nice clean copy of two lesser known works bound together but from different publishers & different Flemish cities. Head- & tail-pieces & foliated initials, extensive editorial comments by Herman Venema, text in Latin with some Hebrew.
