Small quarto blindstamped pig on 3 raised bands with 2 chased functioning clasps and fine old manuscript title to spine (but now rubbed). Tools include swags inner rows of leaves and flowers, central panel of passion flowers to each corner and central bouquet. Binding bit marked & rubbed. All edges blued (original rubbed) frontis + Titlepage +[8]pp dedication +privilege +2nd titlepage/verso licence dated Dec. 1689 +[6]pp contents +171pp (mis-numbered 159) +[3]pp index +Titlepage to Part II +[6]pp contents +197pp +[3]pp index +Titlepage Part III +[6]pp contents +165pp +[3]pp index +half title +[6]pp contents +292pp (text + several indices). Small tear out of one titlepage where tab torn away, other tabs still in situ, the frontis is close trimmed especially at the bottom but the illustration is in good strong impression. One blank missing (between 2 of the books). Very crisp and clean in a lovely binding with a great frontispiece from an unusual city for publishing.
