Duodecimo (142x85mm) marbled calf lacking spine labels (worn and one corner with leather singed, one hinge cracked but held by cords/tips worn and 1cm damage to head of spine/2mm chipped to foot of spine) TP +[6]pp +216pp. Bookplate of Library of American board of commissioners for foreign Missions, bookplate of Jeremiah Evarts. Some foxing and browning but neat, tight and clean. Deals with Balbo's discoveries in Panama & Pizarro's conquest in Peru and the Settlement of Brazil by the Portuguese and its revolutions. This is one of the most interesting volumes on America in this series of early childrens book on exploration with all the charming required plates and a fine map.
