Parkyns,G.J. - MONASTIC AND BARONIAL REMAINS with other interesting Fragments of Antiquity. 1816
[V58692]

£220.00

Author: Parkyns,G.J.
Title: MONASTIC AND BARONIAL REMAINS with other interesting Fragments of Antiquity in England,Wales ..
PlacePub: London
Publisher: Longman, Hurst, Reees et al. 1st edition
Date: 1816
Illustrations: Aquatint plates (100)

2 VOLUMES in ONE newer tan cloth with paper spine label (tips rubbed/slightly faded to spine) xii+120pp iv+168pp From the Royal Institution of Great Britain with presentation plate + blindstamp of the Royal Institution on TP of volume one only. There is a small label to show that it has been sold legally by the Royal Institution. The paper is uniformly toned (as originally printed on sl.creamy paper?) and 2 marginal tears not touching any printed area. Slight offsetting from the plates onto the facing text page which is still quite legible and clean, and the edges are a bit rough-cut so that there is some outer edge flaking (less than 1/4" and never anywhere near the print). A very nice copy of this aquatint illustrated book of romantic ruins with trees & often people and carriages etc.
