188x123mm green blindstamped cloth gilt titled to cover and spine (head of spine chipped/corners rubbed) viii +78pp +2pp new publications list & 16pp publisher's catalogue. Some pale foxing and pencil underlining but a bright tight children's book. Small bookplate mounted on pastedown. *Although written by a clergyman for children there is little mention of religion and then only in the first few pages and the concluding remarks. There the Creator is mentioned as a benign influence and indirectly the process of evolution is touched upon.
