Ownership inscription Elizabeth Morris January 26th 1925 on pastedown. Comic book format with text below each picture, usually 6 illustrations per page. Lacks one third of one leaf (pp15-16). *An early edition of this famous French picture book, before 1925 from ownership inscription. Front cover has at foot: Édition de la "SEMAINE DE SUZETTE" 55, Quai des Grands-Augustins, Paris. On titlepage: Gautier et Languereau, Éditeurs 55, Quai des Grands-Augustins, 55 Paris. Back of titlepage has a list of 11 titles ending with "L'alphabet de Bécassine", and at foot "Copyright by Henri Gautier, 1913". Note at foot of last page: "1933-23. - Corbeil. Imprimerie Crété" below Table des Matières listing 61 stories.
