Octavo cream cloth in torn and partly defective illustrated dust jacket (jacket neatly repaired, cloth darkened at edges by foxing and tanning) 221pp inc. half title, Title, contents leaf and illustration leaf. Former owner's name P.A. Thomson to fly leaf. *Neat tight boy's adventure story in rarely found wartime illustrated but defective dust jacket, which describes this book (on inner front flap) as follows: "The book derives its title from the name of a public house that stood on the riverside i9n Wapping a hundred and fifty years ago or thereabouts. That is where the hero spent his childhood, and that was his point of departure on a voyage in the best TREASURE ISLAND vein that carried him to the other side of the world and back".
