Oblong quarto white cloth spined pictorial boards (edges chipped boards marked more to unillustrated rear, the gilt & coloured Hassall illustration on front cover good & bright). Unpaginated (51 leaves) half title +illustrated titlepage +contents and all text printed in RED. Internally a very clean tight copy of a book often found in poor condition due to its larger size. The Hassall plates are vibrant and lively. *Note on last page: "All the illustrations of 'Good Queen Bess' have been designed by Mr. John Hassall, R.I. The accompanying text has been written by Miss Brenda Girvin. The colour printing has been carried out by Messrs. W. Griggs & Sons. The binding has been executed by Messrs. Leighton, Son, & Hodge".
