Illustrations: Coloured plates {8] with light blue tissue paper to each plate.

16mo green embossed cloth with gilt to front cover and with blind stamping to spine and lower cover (head & foot of spine with 3mm wear, corners of covers similarly worn). Coloured frontispiece + titlepage + contents leaf + 16 pages to each of the eight parts. The contents page lists the pages from 1 to 113. Each of the sections has a colour plate facing the first page of each story and numbered at the top margin, 1 to 16 for each story. Margins at foot of pages however are paginated throughout from page 1 to 128. The reddish-brown front endpaper has a neat inscription "Florence Cotton A prize for general improvement. Hamilton House Christmas 1862". Some pages are a little tanned - mainly to blank verso of the plates.
