Hassell Binding octavo blue pictorial & gilt lettered cloth showing a mounted rider shooting into the air & on spine the gold prospector (spine very rubbed & faded, corners bumped else binding tight) All edges olivine 386pp +16pp publisher's catalogue. Lacks 2 of 8 plates. Lightly foxed to a few leaves but clean, tight and no marks or inscriptions. *Story of a schoolboy who is accused of theft and runs away to America crossing the continent to join the gold rush in California where he is successful and makes a heroic rescue of a gold transport being hijacked and finally finds the true culprit who stole the money.
